What are my options for getting rid of the static chatter when the engine is running? Would running the ground wire direct to the neg on the battery help?

These aerials hard to erect only am not to good on heights haha were is the best place to mount them does it have to be say on the chimney or is the gutter any good and how tall are these aerials

I agree that the DV27 is a good antenna, yet it need a big enough tin to mount right.

My advice to you is to start with a silver-rod but buy the more expensive one as the ali quality will be better and it will last. Don't bother with the longer 5/8 wave one with the small and pointless ground plans..the half wave is just as good. Hope this helps. At home at the moment due to snow so ...
