What's the best rig with a forward facing speaker currently have a midland 220 and it is rubbish ! It have just about perfect swr, earthed antenna and it just does not receive ! Any help anyone ?

I have a problem with my midland 220, it seems to transmit fine, got a decent swr on the antenna but I just don't seem to be able to receive anything ! Have tried diffrent antennas and still nothing ! Swr a less than 1.5, any ideas ?

What's the best flexible anntenna for mounting on a tractor other than orbiter types ? Is the super flexi any good ? Or The sirtel gamma 2r any good ? Any other ideas ?

Thanks for the help, took about an inch off the end swr around 1 on all channels now which will do for me !

How much should i shorten it by ? 5 mm ?

just put a new trucker 80 on my set up and can get decent swr on it ! put my old orbitor back on and the swr is well below 1, the swr on the trucker 80 is above 2 on channel 1 and just below the red on 40 ! tryed lenghtening the whip but just makes it worse ! anyone any ideas ? need help !
