you can get a sidemount which would fit on the rear and not look too bad
only trouble is you would have to drill 2 small holes but it will work ok

The furthest ever I've got was long path beaming over the north pole and into South Africa, that was however with a PDL2 on SSB with approx 2.5kw RF power but it was on the 11m band

In the late 80's with a Midland CB and the good old DV 27 on an old roasting tray at a window, I managed to get over 30 miles at night (confirmed by a contact in Teeside)

There was a block of flats at the end of the street which did seem to have a rather weird effect of reflecting signals towards the direction I was transmitting to like a satelite - I think the front panels of the flats were metal.

These call signs you're using - are they for amateur licences?

no there was quite a few clubs started in the late 70 early 80's and most of them ran a dx side delta tango was one that springs to mind all the clubs world wide decided to numder each country britan was 26
so a typical call sign would be 26dt11 for example or you could make up your own but use the 26 prefix to identifie the country from which you were transmitting

hope this helps
