as a complete newcomer to the c b world, (havn't yet got one) :oops: i am looking for advice as to what to look for. i do not understand half the jargon so please bare with me. how easy are they to set up,where abouts is he best place to stick the ariel (clean answers only please :mrgreen: )also,been looking to find out what is the meter you need to set the system up. was thinking of the starter pack from thunder pole. bearing in mind we drive discoveries the ariel might be difficult to earth as they both have ally roofs. any advice would be very greatfully recieved, many thanks.

Hi Lyron....me again!

THINK you need to get a magnet & test the Disco's roof....I think you'll find the roofs are steel. Mag-mounts DO work on Disco's, but NOT Defenders.

the best mount is a gutter mount if one will fit or spend more for a wilson mag mount which will last you for life easiest way is to ring astra and speak to colin or andy who will answer all you questions and certanly set you up

many thanks for the advice, and you are of course correct about the disco roof, they are steel :oops: a senior moment me thinks. :roll: will be looking into the mag mounts. once again, thank you.

mag should be your second choice after gutter mount and if so make sure its a good mag mount kit

hi lyron

i think i would have gone for the CTE Stainless Steel Hatch Mount as it will fit on hatch backs, also the boot or doors as many new cars don`t come with gutters that or im going blind or they have gone invisible :shock:
