i have a 100 watt burner . it say's it draws 9 amps. having looked at the wiring in my car ( volkswagen polo ) the cigar lighter is fused at 10 amps. i'm tempted therefore to wire up to that as it is very easy to access the wiring behind the lighter and the lenth of the wiring run would only be six inches. anyone think there will be any problems? the reason for doing it this way is because i'd rather not wire direct to the battery if i can avoid it.

also i presume i could use the metalwork of the fuse box as a negative connection?
