is the vr5000 a scanner as you wont get the re transmit from the internet to you if it is, you will be able to talk but not rx.

just tuned down to the 14mhz on the icom and there is a contest going on, 1 station i heard c/s Oscar hotel, giving me 6 pound radio 5 on a stinger antenna which is mag mounted onto my radiator in my room lol he is a overseas operator, then i removed my twig to put the small tristar radials in and i was still getting him at 0 signal radio 4 lol

got a 25 amp power supply today from thunderpole same model as all the others just under a diffrent brand name, its a linear, and not even a bit of noise being caused its silent on the radio, so im happy plus got it for 99 quid so not to much of a wallet lick out, some decent plugs and cable later and i can now use the icom at home just no antenna out side only have the stinger inside so very local use only, suprised though my antenna is giving me a swr of 1.1 on a radiator lol

My psu still on the floor down stairs lol,the psu is the same as the one i got but a diffrent name (palstar).glad that the psu has worked for you,you should know why your swr is down to 1.1 m8.the vr5000 you cannot transmit on it.

im guessing its down as the rad is earthed, im thinking about sticking the antron out the window when it gets dark lol i wont get caught then lol, yer same psu bud mine is under the brand of manson but they are the same just a diffrent sticker on the front.

only thing i dont like is the selector for the power output it has a little notch to hold it at 13.8v but its very easy to move is by accident, so im going to mod that with a beter selector i think

If it's the power supply I'm thinking it is there is a switch on the underside to set them to 13.8 volts and dissables the knob on the front.
