only rx on the ham bands there are a few active repeater around here, i have the only 446 repeater locally, did some tests yesterday, with a normal 446 radio with a 16 inch duel band double coil mag mount, indoors at the top of the room (ground floor) im getting around 2.5 to 3 miles, with a decentish antenna on the roof i should be looking at fairly good coverage

what about you, many repeaters local to you, im off down to kent tomorrow so im just bunging some more repeaters 2m and 70cm in the vx-7r to provide me with other listening, only so much of radio 1 i can take (by radio 1 i mean ch 19 when going past london lol)

spot on me old mate,

cant fault it now, got a avair av601 swr/power meter yesterday for it as the meter does hf/vhf/uhf, not the best meters out there but does the job,

also got a new mag maount for my 1/4 wave tank whip due to the other one being poop, couple of new patch leads and a audio adaptor for my vx-7r

so i have been a busy boy, shame though i didnt get up the hills today to try it all out, have to save it for next week,

hows things at your end?

i use the generic pmr446 eqso link software can be found here http://www.eqso.net/

then to link the radio i just use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack lead and a 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack lead, and use the audio adapter i got the other day to convert the radios output jack to a standard 2 jack system as the vx-7r only has one jack and you screw it in to aid its waterproof design.

dont use any radio specific vx-7r software
