got my seperation kit and mounts today for the 706 so will be running all the cables and putting the mounts in the car (the radio wont be kept in car 24/7 but the mounts will so i have a stable platform for it all when im out mobile. also ordered a cooling fan that fits onto the rear heat sink on the 706 and draws heat out the unit, it draws its power from the tuner port but can still use a tuner as well (even though i dont), bargin extra cooling for 38 quid with postage from the USA.
so will be fitting that lot on sat and might get on the air on sunday

There is a fan mod you can do on the 706 that runs the internal fan slowly all the time and lets it run at it's correct speed when transmitting. At the moment the internal fan only runs when transmitting.
