high swr

just put a new trucker 80 on my set up and can get decent swr on it ! put my old orbitor back on and the swr is well below 1, the swr on the trucker 80 is above 2 on channel 1 and just below the red on 40 ! tryed lenghtening the whip but just makes it worse ! anyone any ideas ? need help !

If your SWR is higher on 40 you need to shorten the whip not lengthen it :idea:

How much should i shorten it by ? 5 mm ?

Try 3mm at a time & keep going until the SWR starts to go up.

that far out try 5mm to start with
if it anit broke dont fix it

Thanks for the help, took about an inch off the end swr around 1 on all channels now which will do for me !
