i have just taken delivery of a cre 8900. Now i know youre not supposed to use these without the relevent licence. It is programmed for 11 mtr cb band... The question is whats the likelyhood of "getting "done" using it on 11 mtr cb band..and who would these cb police be. I would have it fitted in my van so i need to be certain..TIA.

Ive never been pulled by Vosa or the Police while ive had ilegal radios in the cab so i cant say if they might confiscate the set . I used my shoguns and superstars and Hams in a briefcase ready to disconect shut if i got pulled over .

Home based If you stay betweem channell 1 Mid band and channell 40 UK you will be fine , In between these two bands are the so called freebanding channells which are used for Sidebanding with 27.555 being the calling channell, High band channell 1 to 15 .
You will most likely not be bothered by the authorities using the 15 freebanding channells unles you are affecting the local TV reception .
