Why Ariel and not ariel?

It must have been asked before?

Why does the spellchecker on every PC I have used flag ariel spelt with a lower case flag up an error, but with upper case it is considered correct?

No idea, could be gay or maybe just how it works...

Genreally names of things use a capital letter though in the english language.

Ariel is a brand name, it's the brand name of a washing detergant in the UK and probably other countries also.

Ariel is the proper name of an Archangel ; the antenna is an aerial , as in aloft , like aerial photography .
