then i got my first leagel fm radio from the wembley confrence center when thay had the first cb radio show there and it was a (lake-950) cant remember how much it cost me but i got the coax from there and i got a silver rod off a mate on the same day ...now i might like to add the silver rod was painted green and brown so no one back in the day could see it up in a tree....

Mine too was the Fidelity 3000 Homebase. Got it from "Makro" on the first day it became legal. It was crap on broadband, made me sound like I'd got my head in a tin bucket, and looked like an early answerphone system, but I loved that rig, and I still have it in my loft 25 years later along with my "collection", but I lost the box years ago when the roof leaked. (Would love to find a box if anyones got one??) Used it along with an "Invader" aerial, which too was crap, and quickly swapped it for the 1st version of the Thunderpole tripod-legged home-base aerial (Brilliant!).

My first rig was a Midland 4001 with a t40 on my dads car, then I got an Amstrad 901 which I hooked up to a big ariel (can't remember the name but it was 18ft with a diamond on the top and 4 4ft groundplanes), lent the rig to a mate and he thought he would give it more power... he blew it up :x and wouldn't give it back.

Set up again a few months ago, my 4001 wouldn't transmit so picked up a Danita 3000 and found a Midland 48 Excel too, could do with a better twig though.
