also my band selector is six position and marked acordingly uk-sh-hi-mid-low-sl

i can only see three position markings on any other 148 i see ie ebay or internet sites , but mine looks like it is original etched label

on others i see its just etched with low-med-hi

what have i got in my possesion???

hi, i just bought a superstar 3900 which is a "new" version of my 1978/81 cobra 148gtl dx, thing is the old cobra had three bands low, mid and high, whilst this new one has 6 bands like yours, i am at the moment having a board fitted which looks very similar to yours and its so you can "get" the uk 40 legal channels in the right order ie 1-40 hope that helps? :D

i am not gonna mess with it,,i am happy its been done nicely,,

i spoke wih cobra workshops as i was a bit miffed about the printed front panel and wondered if it was one of theirs ,, anyway they explained about the mod and why the board would be there , and now i am happy i got my head round why i dont see six positions on other cobras 148's,,
