what is best to get 1/2 or 5/8 wave whats the difference or is it a long story ????

If you use search, this has been covered before.

I'm sure Stampman say's 5/8 has a much flatter signal so performs that much better.

i did read the thread before but was not sure what a 'flatter signal ''was

it did not say flatter was better, :?

if it was fizzy drink then flatter would not be better,,

but hey,, now i know that if a signal is flatter than another it means it is better,

sorry about not being clearer but flatter means it leaves the antenna at 90 degrees not at 135 deg whic is nearer to the vertical

1\2 waves are 18 ft and 5/8 are 21ft its to do with wavelenth of antennas' had 1/2 wave before worked ok -but useing 5\8 at min best ive hade`5\8 seam to swr in beter with groand plane radals get one with or make sum its not hard` look wot gain the antenna is the higher it is the more it will incrse signal
