i have just taken delivery of a cre 8900. Now i know youre not supposed to use these without the relevent licence. It is programmed for 11 mtr cb band... The question is whats the likelyhood of "getting "done" using it on 11 mtr cb band..and who would these cb police be. I would have it fitted in my ...

SUPERSTAR 3900EFT



hi all i,ve just been a very lucky chap ( or have i). i,ve just been given a superstar 3900 eft. it has freq counter and cw usb lsb etc. i,ve only ever used the 40/80 channel cb's before. can someone tell me something about the cw and side bands as there is no manual with it and i havnt a clue ...

it's a superb antenna. cut the trailing wire if your body mounting the antenna it made no difference to the swr i did, besides the swr is easily adjusted by the tip. it does whistle a bit but its not that bad, i,ve known much worse.

thats the one.... you can cut the trailing wire if its got a good ground via its mounting.....

its much better quality than a firestick! infact its probably the most robust antenna i,ve ever seen. i had it on a magmount but got rid of this and have just added another antenna and twinned the two together on the roof of the car. the results are brilliant and it looks good too! i had been ...

took the plunge and purchased one of these! wow! wow! and double wow! certainly the best antenna i have ever had.. great on distance . great on recieve i cant fault it at all! i,ve had the super flexi, firesick, sirio hi power and wilson 1000 this is by a million miles the best.

just been having a look round for new ideas and came across this.....wilson fgt silver load antenna. does anyone have any experience with this antenna please? it certainly looks the business but IS it the business?

have one at present and looking for something else. from the cb point of view i rate it as very average. if you like the bbc test matches.forget it the long wave is useless and the mw, ie five live or talk sport isnt very good. fm signal ok after i had fitted a signal booster!

just been reading that infact twins mounted on a car can be benificial. provided they are mounted on the roof as far apart as possible they would work well.

burner advise

i have a 100 watt burner . it say's it draws 9 amps. having looked at the wiring in my car ( volkswagen polo ) the cigar lighter is fused at 10 amps. i'm tempted therefore to wire up to that as it is very easy to access the wiring behind the lighter and the lenth of the wiring run would only be six ...
